Writing wasn’t something I ever saw myself doing as a career. I had written a few short stories for fun when I was in high school and college, but that was the end of that. I was working full-time and raising two young children. Writing wasn’t on my radar at all.My kids went to stay with my parents for a week in the summer of 2009. My husband and I stayed home and enjoyed a kid-free house. About a day into our staycation, I had part of a story stuck in my head. It was the same part of a story that just kept repeating and repeating. It was so annoying!
