Body Shot (ICE # 2)

Amy
Jarecki

Genre:
Suspense-Thriller

Henri Anderson, Special Ops soldier and recipient of the Medal of Honor, has spent two years in prison for a crime she did not commit.  Is it any wonder that she chooses to retreat to the gold mine she inherited from her grandfather, separating herself from the world that has so badly betrayed her?  Nothing is ever as simple as one wants it to be, however, soon duty comes calling in the form of a handsome hot Scotsman by the name of Mike Rose.  The two are sent on a mission to strike at the heart of ISIS terrorists and Mike knows that he will do whatever is necessary to protect Henri, even at the cost of his own life.

Ms. Jarecki has obviously done her research when it comes to creating a military thriller. "Body Shot" is tautly written, and Henri and Mike’s romance is well measured; it develops gracefully and organically from physical attraction to love. Character development and story structure combine with a great narrative that keeps the reader nicely in the story. The chemistry between Henri and Mike sizzles in passages that convey both the emotional and physical ties between the two characters.  While the plot and the outcome are formulaic and predictable, the story arc is full of exotic locales and adventures that keep the reader guessing from one page to the next.  A great read!
