PARANORMAL/FANTASY:  As Simone watches her mother die from the cancer ravaging her body, she has a brilliant solution…read to her. Simone’s mother’s health improves and the cancer is cured. Simone can’t believe her luck, but there was more to it than that. There was something special about the book Simone read to her mother. Simone’s mother was even able to find a job working as a waitress. When Simone meets Tristan at the restaurant where her mom works, she instantly falls for him. As Tristan and Simone get closer, forging a strong bond by falling in love, the book calls to Simone to do something extraordinary, even though Simone’s mom tells her to get rid of it. What will Tristan do when he finds out about the book and Simone’s destiny?

This book is deeply moving, beautifully written, with a well-crafted plot and very real characters. At first the story moves slowly, but it definitely picks up speed, sweeping the reader into the characters’ lives, making it difficult not to become emotional while reading. Of course, every relationship is occasionally rocky, and Tristan and Simone’s isn’t perfect but moves along as the characters grow. The strange, enigmatic book is central to the story, remaining mysterious and magical throughout. In the beginning, Simone is a fun-loving, naïve girl. As the story progresses, she grows into a very compassionate, loving person that readers will instantly like, despite her issues and insecurities. Tristan is also a wonderful hero with secrets that readers will not only sympathize with but will cheer for.
