Rhett's Make-Believe Marriage (Seven Sons Ranch in Three Rivers #1)

Rhett Walker has come to Three Rivers with his brothers to build a ranch and get away from the heartbreak they have each suffered. With money to spare, Rhett has the time he needs to heal, but only one person interests him — and she has not always been available. Evelyn Foster and her sisters live next door, but unlike the Walkers, the Fosters are constantly low on funds, and now Evelyn’s matchmaking business is in trouble. To save her business, it will take a crazy idea. Could a fake marriage with her best friend, Rhett, really save her business? Possibly, but it might just save something more important — her heart.

A binge-worthy read, “Rhett’s Make-Believe Marriage” is the first in a seven-book series that is completely intertwined. The first three brothers begin their romance journeys in this book, with alternating point of views per chapter! While there are no cliff hangers, readers will mostly likely find themselves consuming all seven books, as they become hooked on the characters. Rhett and Evelyn are beautifully flawed but believable. They are friends attracted to one another, but with baggage that continually threatens their communication and relationship progress.  The major flaw in this book is actually that there is no mention that the characters are roughly 40 and dealing with their first serious relationship until the very end of the book, thus many aspects of their struggles/conflict are never considered, mentioned, or dealt with. However, readers looking for a clean Christian book with mature but handsome cowboy billionaires and the women who love them, will find heaps to enjoy starting with this book.
