Chloe Zahn returns to Cherry Springs to be near her soon-to-be-married, and very pregnant,  sister Zoe. Zoe’s fiancé Gabe is the father of Chloe’s thirteen year-old son. Focused on raising her son, Chloe hasn’t dated in years and now wants to help Zoe with the wedding and her baby. Gabe’s cousin, Reardon Lewis, first set eyes on Chloe fourteen years ago and instantly fell in love. However, Chloe's one night with Gabe smothered Reardon’s hope of a life with her.  Chloe’s return brings Reardon’s buried feelings of fourteen years ago to the surface. Should he take the plunge and go after “the one who got away?”

“Too Complicated: The Lewis Cousins, Book 2” is an emotional rollercoaster of convoluted family relationships with a full roster of likeable characters. Reardon, Chloe, Zoe, and Gabe are well written and have depth. The remainder of the cousins and friends are merely mentioned as a group with little personality or depth and do not help the story progress. While each chapter is labeled with the character’s name, their voices are indistinct and hard to distinguish. The family relationships are very complicated and difficult to follow. Chloe constantly rehashes her jaded past. The main characters are delightfully described, and the situations they find themselves in are often comical. The second book in a series of four, Ms. Lopez paints a delightful tale. Grab this book, sit back and enjoy life in Cherry Springs with the Lewis family!!
