Genre:
Contemporary

Adair Ellis finds herself in a sticky situation when she meets her old high-school heartthrob, Josh Symington, at a dating event, the Race of Hearts. Her sticky situation involves a lie she told back in high school that caused many problems for Josh. As they take part in different challenges against other couples, their feelings for one another become more intense. Things take a dangerous turn — someone knows about the lie that Adair told, and they want to expose everything. Josh has spent years trying to deal with what happened. What will he think when he finds out the truth?

The plot of "Race of Hearts" is a good one, a slight change to the usual plot of secret-keeping. The tension of not knowing whether Josh will forgive Adair when he finds out the truth runs throughout the book. The characters are well written and their relationship is on edge right from the start, which adds to the tension. The passion between Adair and Josh is electric, the sex scenes are searing hot and unforgettable. Prepare to laugh aloud at some of the scenes or at the very least giggle at the fun dialogue between the characters. A few grammatical errors slows the story down some, but not enough to spoil the book.  Although touted as a standalone, "Race of Hearts" is the Full Circle series opener, and readers will be eager for the next installment.  Author Sharon Clare shows much promise here!
