A Pinch of Salt (Three Sisters Catering #1)

Genre:
Contemporary

Millie, Dru and Tasha are sisters who have started their own catering company, highlighting each of the sisters’ unique talents.  Millie is the chef.  When she decides to step out of her comfort zone and help single dad Jackson give his daughter her dream tea party for her birthday, fireworks go off.  Neither one of them expected the hot attraction to each other, nor the fact that an eight year old could create a cold shot to that attraction.  Millie and Jackson both realize they are merely existing, not living the life they are meant to live.

Bethany Lopez does a fabulous job showing the feelings, struggles and attraction between Millie and Jackson.  The story starts with a small taste of what is to come and draws out the Millie's inner struggle — how the past can hurt the future.  The story of how Jackson found himself a single parent is a typically used story.  The plot progresses in a manner that is not only compelling but real to the core.  The mix of dialogue and narrative create an environment that has the reader cheering for Millie and Jackson, and crying when the conflict threatens to rip them apart. A good weekend read!
