When Wishes Bleed

The Kingdom of Nautilus is divided into thirteen areas. Sectors 1 through 12 are where the humans live. Sector 13 is for the witches, who control the four elements: earth, wind, fire, and water.  There is a fifth house that seventeen-year-old Sable will now claim as she is of age. She will be the Guardian of Fate. Fate guides Sable and helps her to distinguish somebody’s future or fate. During the equinox celebration, a young man asks for a reading. He chooses to use the wishbones. When he breaks it, it bleeds, indicating his eminent demise. When he asks for Sable’s help, she is whisked away to the palace where a female from each sector is competing for the heart of the Prince. In order to ensure Prince Tauren’s safety, Sable must pretend to be one of the contestants and endure a contest that rivals television's "The Bachelor".

The reader will be swept away in the magic, adventure and romance of this book. It has light-hearted comedy, dark magic, old hatreds, and sweet romance.  The characters each have their own unique personalities, making this an extremely enjoyable read.  "When Wishes Bleed" offers a bit of mystery and suspense, keeping the reader turning the pages and waiting for the next book to follow. The author does a great job of tying up the loose ends and throws in a hint of what is to come in the next installment.  A delight to read!
