Suspense-Thriller

Sara Sheridan and her daughter are on the run from Sara’s abusive husband, a high-profile attorney who got hooked up with the wrong crowd. He needs something Sara stole from him, and he’s willing to do whatever it takes to get that back. Meanwhile, Sara landed in the small town of Tidal Falls. Her neighbor, Nick, is a grumpy, ex-Navy Seal recovering from a battle injury. He’s attracted to Sara from the start, but he’s not one for long term relationships. But, when he finds out the trouble she’s in, he swears he’ll do whatever it takes to protect her, and her daughter.

Sara and Nick made a good couple. Their romance had a slow start but this made it more realistic. The plot is slightly predictable, but it does make for an entertaining read. The highlight of the book is without a doubt the characterization. The characters shine and make the book worthwhile.

The book could use another round of editing though, since it had several spelling and grammar errors. The dialogue was off at times, especially when it came to Sara’s daughter, who doesn’t really talk the way a child does. In general, the story was entertaining, though, and it made for a good, quick read.
