Genre:
Suspense-Thriller

Pride Slattery is working undercover as a security guard while investigating a money laundering and drug trafficking operation for Homeland Security. When he meets Sabetha Hill, an exotic beauty with a voice like an angel, he keeps his career as a covert operative under wraps while dating the woman of his dreams. Suffering with PTSD and living with a prosthetic leg, Pride feels he doesn’t have much to offer anyone and no chance for a relationship that will last. However, when Sabetha proves to be not only his ideal woman but also his perfect mate, he has to reassess his thinking and life.

This romantic tale starts out with covert suspense which quickly takes a back seat to issues of PTSD and apathy while the protagonists journey down the road to true love. With an unrealistic timeframe for falling in love plus editing issues that creep up and cause one to pause, this novel nonetheless keeps the reader engaged and turning the pages. With characters that are real and well-liked and a plot that flows smoothly and at a steady pace, the path to happily ever after is entertaining and keeps one’s interest up until its conclusion. This sensitively wrought romantic suspense is interspersed with PTSD episodes, sensual romance, and bumps in the road, which makes this an enjoyable read that will appeal to readers of many genres.
