“The Secrets That Shape Us” is a mystery that keeps readers guessing until the very end! The plot moves at a brisk pace and contains characters that readers will fall in love with. Aspects of the storyline are a little cliché, however this is only a small issue. The relationship between Ryan and Casey is an interesting will-they or won't-they struggle. However, the love scenes are passionate and incredibly enjoyable. W.L. Brooks has given readers the whole package in this novel. Romance, a whodunit and twists and turns until the end. A promising second book in the McKay series that will pave the way for future books and take readers hurrying back to read the first book in the series.
