Captive at Christmas (Captive Hearts #1)

Genre:
Suspense-Thriller

Canadian Hannah Magnus decides to vacation in Washington state at Christmas after her long-time boyfriend dumps her for another woman. Time alone in her comfiest clothes and plenty of cake baking supplies is all she wants or needs. Then Mackenzie ‘Mac’ Dunlop, ex-special ops soldier, shows up with an identical rental agreement and forces her at gunpoint to stay put so she can’t tell anyone he’s there. Not a very good start to either one’s relaxing vacation, but the sensual heat between them may be just what they both need, if they both would only let go of the past.

The easy flow of words, vivid descriptions, heart-pulling emotions and steamy attraction make this story a delight to read!  The reader is pulled into the nearly paranoid personality of Mac and the comforting personality of Hannah. Two people who have lived very different lives yet a soul-deep connection is there if only they can find a way to nurture it. The reader can only sit on the edge of the seat, mentally nudging Mac into relaxing and trusting Hannah and whispering to Hannah to refrain from trying to ‘fix’ Mac.

A shocking adrenaline fueled incident ignites the flame of passion, but is the fiery attraction enough to carry them into a new life together? Taylor has created a wonderful afternoon read filled with steamy, tension-filled romance that leaves one smiling at the end.
