HISTORICAL:  Rory MacGregor is a legendary warrior known for his love conquests, yet it was one mortal female who managed to capture his own heart. When his dark secret is revealed, his punishment is to eseal the wounds caused by her death. When he finds the timeline altered, however, he vows to rewrite fate, even if it means giving his life for hers. With a large heart and the need to help others, Erina MacIntye is known for healing herbs and love charms even as some whisper of her being a witch. When Rory crosses her path, she cannot fight the familiarity, or the desire that heats her veins. Will history repeat itself, or will Rory succeed in saving the only woman he has truly ever loved?

The second in a series, “Oath of a Warrior” is a mythological romance of epic proportion. The story dives in head first, immediately drawing the reader into the author’s complex world of magic and folklore. Though the book appears to have left off from the previous entry, it can be read as a standalone. The plot, world, and characters are nicely developed and the reader well informed. However, there tends to be many drawn out scenes making the story feel like it takes awhile to get anywhere. The story is also heavily influenced by Scottish lore. While most of it is delightful, the language may trip some readers up and pull them from the story.  A powerful story following an undeniable love between two complex characters, “Oath of a Warrior” is a well-written romance that will capture the reader's heart — if willing to devote the time and attention.
