Madison’s Gift: The Gifted Series Book 1

Genre:
Paranormal

HISTORICAL/SUSPENSE/THRILLER:  Madison has always stood out, and not just for her kindness. Her gift of visions leads  her to the police station, and assisting in the efforts to find a lost boy. That leads to her encounter with Officer Cameron Westland’s sister, who requests her help. Cameron is skeptical and dead-set on preventing another scandal that would shadow his family, but Madison is stubborn and just as determined to help anyone who needs it. Working together, the pair learn to trust others while their hearts soften, opening them up to love. That love, however, is  tested by a terrifying past and a convoluted present with more than a few visions thrown in.

This is not a simple story, but one that has a complex, engaging plot line woven with endearing story-telling and unforgettable characters. The description, from the people to the houses to the transportation, gives the audience the feeling of actually peeking in on real-life events and helps to activate all five senses. Emotions are well defined, making one fully understand what each individual is experiencing. There are a couple of places where people seem not to act like themselves and there are some strong clichés to work through. Overall, it is everything a suspense/romance should be including amazing twists and intentional misdirection — it will set more than one reading device on fire due to readers furiously trying to figure out what is next.
