ALLEGORY/DARK FICTION:  There is a “sickness” plaguing Paradise Grove that affects the Colstock family. When Bridgette Dawning learns a secret about the Reverend Colstock, she is killed for her knowledge. Years later when Mackenzie “Mac” Howell, a girl from the trailer park, sees Bridgette’s picture in the newspaper and learns of her death, she can’t help but feel for her.

DYSTOPIAN:  The United States of America has crumbled on the world stage and is occupied by countries who at one time were her arch-enemies. The new government, the Metrics, holds its citizens hostage in a labyrinth of coercion and terror and only those who have escaped know the truth. Now, any hope of liberation lies in the hands of Bristol, Samara, Stephen, Denver, and Jude, who are now living as refugees in the UK.

SCI-FI:  Rumors surrounded Sienna Dukelsky leaving the academy to guide ships in — the main one being that she was devastated after Crispin Hunt was expelled. When they are unexpectedly brought together, their feelings rekindle. When her ship loses power, she is thrown into a situation she never expected.
