Genre:
Mystery

Kaley is looking forward to the Alohaween Festival. She has a lot of planning to do and the last thing she wants is be dragged along to a ghoul-themed beauty pageant, where she sees her nemesis Harmony Kane. The competition ends in murder when the winner is found dead. Harmony is accused of the murder and begs Kaley to help her. With the help of her friends and handsome lifeguard Noa, Kaley sets out to prove Harmony's innocence and find the actual killer. It seems that everyone involved in the pageant has secrets they want to keep hidden, but are they a reason for murder?

This was a fun and quirky read with a feel-good factor to it. The murder mystery is compelling and the numerous characters give quite the suspect list. There were some confusing aspects to the description and at times, it is hard to tell what is going on, but as this is the 13th book in the series, it is understandable. All in all, this is a very good book with a lot going for it. The cover is also very striking, brightly colored and stands out. For first time readers, it might tempt them to go back and read the other books in the series to get a better idea of what is going on. For fans of Halloween and fun reads, this is a must read!
