Harmony Hasting's life is turning out to be anything but harmonious. She’s just returned from her vacation to find the nursing home where she works, has hired a new doctor.  Is is the delicious Dr. Milburn Warrick or Dr. Benjamin Dunford, Jr.?  She doesn’t want to suspect him in connection with the strange accidents that are happening at the Silver Shadow Nursing Home … but what’s a girl to do besides rub the crystals on her chakra bracelet?

The book was written as an adult mystery/romance, yet reads very much like a young adult novel with adult characters. There are dogs, drugs and poker games in the story as well as several classic television references. The references themselves are interesting, but seem to be a bit over-explained. The exclamations and thoughts set forth in the BOLD print interrupt the reading and are awkward and antiquated, as well as reading “Ding-dong. Ding-dong” for the doorbell (eye roll). As the storyline moves along, despite these mechanics, one does want to find out who is responsible for the accidents as well as what the outcome of the relationship between Harmony and the dreamy doctor will be. These questions are answered, yet there were some loose ends that were not quite tied up, and that is the mystery.
