A Murder on Wall Street: A Joey Mancuso Father O’Brian Crime Mystery

Owen
Parr
Genre:
Mystery

An alleged suicide has a unique group of friends banding together to investigate the truth. Two brothers, Joey Mancuso and Father Dom, are owners of Captain O’Brian’s Irish Pub and Cigar Bar in Manhattan’s Financial District, and they’re also private investigators. Joey is a former NYPD officer who was kicked off the force for getting too close to a previously unsolved murder, which shows up as the brothers and their friends get too close to uncovering the truth .. The story focuses on those in the stock market, namely, Albert and Evan, two brothers who are involved in a multi-million-dollar Ponzi scam. This story is full of myriad crimes, such as money laundering, identity theft, drug cartels, suspense and even…murder?

“A Murder on Wall Street” starts off rough, but after a few chapters, this story is surprising in the way everything falls dynamically into place. A classic murder mystery with an excellent balance of suspense and angst. The characters are very interesting, especially Joey, a former NYPD detective, and Father Dom, a Catholic Priest, who work famously together. Unusual and unexpected? Yes. Delightful and intriguing? Absolutely! The way Mr. Parr teasingly leads the reader with clues and hints is anxiously exciting, but the manner in which he ties everything together in the end is superb! The only reason this story did not receive a five star is that the editing and grammar issues were very distracting. All in all, “A Murder on Wall Street” by Owen Parr is a diamond in the rough! Great work, Mr. Parr!
