Son of Sam strikes again! All the media is carrying the story, except for Coleridge Taylor, a writer for the secondary wire service City News. Instead, Taylor is working the murder of Martha Gibson, domestic for a wealthy family, shot down in cold blood.

After atomic testing in the 1950s, the US government collaborated with Albert Einstein and astrophysicist Julian Bleu to work on a top-secret project code named  Fountain of Youth. Hidden in the Arizona desert they’re aiming to give 24 hand-picked US dignitaries eternal life. The project backfires though, and an explosion kills everyone on site.

Kit Marshall is not looking forward to a weekend at the Continental Club; attending the Mayflower Society meeting with her soon-to-be in-laws and dodging wedding questions does not appeal.
