Jennifer Moore
Genre:
Historical

Since her father’s passing, Ellie has been under the thumb of her cruel stepmother, treated worse than a servant. Getting a surprise caller awakens a knowledge of love and the courage to stand on her own two feet and face the future head on.

Matthew is back after three years, and Abigail still feels the sting of his scorn, but he decides he needs her and only her. With desperation flavoring his actions, he must be quick to prove his sincerity or lose his love forever.

Clara finds herself suddenly staying with distant relatives on the Isle of Wright because of her father’s death, but the only thing she truly yearns for is to return to India. Mason is suspicious of this newcomer until he realizes he is in love with her and will do anything to get her to stay.

Three wonderfully woven stories that throw the reader back into the Victorian era and doesn’t let them back until they have experienced the beauty firsthand. The first tale has a charming Cinderella theme, which makes hearts go aflutter hoping the hero sees through his blinders. The second creates a protagonist one is unsure whether to root for or boo against, but with a resolution that is simple perfection. Finally, the last novella sees the audience holding bated breath hoping the two protagonists get together. The characters are all unique with no shortage of depth, and each work leaves a desperate hunger for more. A lot of mediocre books have been set in the Victorian time period, this is not one of them! This incredible collection is a privilege to encounter.
