Ophelia (The Widows of Wildcat Ridge Series Book 16)

Charlene
Raddon
Genre:
Historical

VICTORIAN:  Ophelia's first love vanishes, leaving her with a broken heart. She marries for convenience to Mortimer Crane who spends the time sleeping with other women and leaving her home alone. When Mortimer puts the mine and town in her name while pocketing the profits, she decides that it is time to get out of the marriage. She is surprised when, upon moving to Wildcat Ridge, she bumps into Deuce, the man who broke her heart, who has changed his name to Body Duvall. It is clear that they still hold a searing flame for one another, but her husband has some deadly plans of his own. Will this end the rekindling of old flames?

An exciting story of lost love found and a classic villain, readers will become lost in Charlene Raddon's world and never want to be found! The characters are portrayed perfectly with Ophelia's husband being someone all will love to hate. When she is reunited with Deuce there is a "hurray!" moment that could lead to some shouting aloud while reading. The only drawback to this book is the clichéd plot. Everything else was fantastic. Beautifully written, dynamic and varied characters and a love story that will warm even the coldest of hearts. Those who read this as their first book will be fortunate that they can go back and enjoy the other fifteen books in the series, which is an absolute must for this talented and awesome author!
