A Song for Sophie (Honky Tonk Hearts)

Mackenzie
Crowne
Genre:
Contemporary

Sophie Taylor is having a really bad day. The history teacher has been let go due to budget cuts, and the bank is in need of payment for a note that her father took out on the family home. He has been unreachable while in Asia on his current archeological dig. Since her mother’s death and her father’s travels, Sophie has done very well on her own and proves to be very independent. As luck would have it, she is in the right place at the right time to accept a job as personal assistant to local country superstar Beaumont Walker, about to head out on a six-week tour. Sophie is a no-fuss gal and takes great pride in her work, and proves to Beau’s sister Trisha, his manager, that she is the perfect fit for the job.  Beau is not happy about the new little drill sergeant on the payroll. Can she endure the entire tour?

Kudos Ms. Crowne, this saucy little country number is a toe tapping good time that is sure to put smiles on faces! The banter between the characters will have readers chuckling throughout. The life of the country star on the road touring is a fantastic one, and this glimpse inside is a delightfully sweet one. Readers will appreciate that, although this story is about a star, the over-the-top riches and luxury that accompanies fame lacks importance. Family and relationships are the main focus and do not disappoint. Warning, from start to finish, you will not be able to put this one down!!
