Rachel Foster has finally picked up the pieces ten years after her husband’s death.  The thirty-four year-old nurse enjoys her peaceful, if uneventful, life in her small town. When her quiet world is shaken to its core by a preacher’s son turned hardened, sexy soldier, will Rachel have the willpower to overcome her fears of losing a loved one and open up her heart to the love of a younger man?

Jason Hamilton has loved Rachel for as long as he can remember. The problem is: he’s ten years younger than her. Although the military has shaped him into a strong man who cares little about what other people think, Jason knows that the age difference is a big problem for Rachel - after all, she’s the one who has to face scrutiny from the townspeople. One thing’s for certain: Jason will stop at nothing to have the woman he loves in his arms forever.

Although this story was delightfully and equally sweet and steamy, the plot left much room for development. For better or for worse, this story doesn’t go anywhere fast or with flair—the reader is along for a simple story with simple conflict. Importantly, though, readers will enjoy reading about these characters—it’s not every day that a story comes along where the female protagonist is older than the male. Some readers will find the change of pace refreshing.
