Hanging On To Hope

Genre:
Contemporary

Clay Andrews hasn’t recovered from losing his daughter Hope to leukemia. The last thing he wants to do is let another woman into his life after he ended his marriage to the heartless woman who left him and their dying daughter six months before her death. Allie Sarver has been put through the ringer with her emotionally abusive ex-husband running off with his younger secretary. All she wants to do is raise her teenage daughters right. When they meet at a wedding, Clay decides that he wants to get to know Allie better. As they both deal with the pasts that haunt them, their journey is intense and the question is: will they admit their feelings for one another?

The plot of this novel is good in that it focuses around situations that people could easily find themselves in and can relate to. Clay and Allie both have baggage they’re dealing with and seeing them overcome it is refreshing and realistic. The heartbreak that both these characters have had to endure makes this a very emotional read, one that can bring a tear to the eye. The reader is in for an emotional ride and will enjoy a well written plot with strong characterization and development. Another gem from Ms. Leger, and a  great book to curl up with on a cold winter's night!
