Jack O’Malley is a footloose and fancy free bachelor until he realizes that a childhood friend has grown up into a beautiful woman - the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with. There has always been an attraction but they have never both been single and in the same place at the same time, until now. Cami Alexander has had a crush on Jack since they were kids but she is afraid of a relationship that might ruin a friendship, not only between the two of them, but of her best friend and his best friend who just happen to be married. Through highs and lows Jack and Cami finally come together, but are they willing to share with their overprotective friends and family? Or will they just hide what everyone can see but refuse to acknowledge because of Jack’s bachelor persona?

Babette James is the creator of sweet contemporary romances. She gives the reader just what they are looking for. A story of life, love, and heartache. Unfortunately, “Convincing Cami" is unconvincing and falls a little short. It is a good story but is predictable and can be slow in parts. On the other hand, Ms. James’ characters are well developed and relatable. They feel like real people that a reader might find next door to their own home. It isn’t always easy to write characters that really touch readers, which is why her books are so fun-filled and such easy reading for a reader in a single setting.
