Australian Nick Rhodes has hired a new assistant but he has one rule: no emotional attachments. Pamela Bishop is everything Nick needs in a professional colleague and more. She comes with an ironclad guarantee: she absolutely will not fall in love with him. While journeying to New York City for business, Pamela and Nick find themselves spending an inordinate amount of time together and cannot ignore the attraction flaring between them. Never deviating from his cardinal rule, can Nick learn to break it in time to grab his one chance at happiness?

The adult steam sizzles in this second installment of the Bound Series, which can stand alone. However, the quick pace that sprints at the very beginning of the story is soon bogged down in Weltschmerz, where the characters perpetually dwell. This, combined with the immaturity level of the constant inner monologues of the protagonists, has the tale reading more like a new adult novel rather than an adult romance. While the plot flows in this archetypal billionaire/employee fantasy, there are a few hiccups with missing words and run-on sentences. Written in the British style, American readers will notice a slight difference in format but will still turn the pages to get to the happily ever after, and the vivid depiction of New York City will lend an eagerness to visit Central Park.
