Adam Whitman enjoys his fast paced L.A. career.  After turning his back on both his family's growing tea company, Emerald Tea, and his high school sweetheart Zoe, he feels as if he's found his place in the world.  But on a short trip back home Adam realizes that the years seem to have changed him and rearranged his priorities.

Zoe has always been a part of the Whitman family and Adam's desertion didn't change that fact. With her bakery now flourishing and personal issues rearing their head, she thought she'd be too busy for the man who broke her heart. But love has a way of holding on, and Adam and Zoe need to face this second chance to either make it work...or move on for good.

Second chance romances tend to have a unique depth to them, and Adam and Zoe's story is no different.  Their history makes their relationship feel natural, but not all of their interaction is about the nostalgia of a lost love. The years apart have given them some much needed personal growth and this author was wonderful at conveying that with their story. Family, happiness, and doing what calls to you leads these two continually toward each other in a fairly low angst romance.  Considering their past, the progression of estranged former lovers to a blossoming affair is quick.  More hesitancy and possibly more page time would have given it more solidity.  Still, this first book in a new series shows great promise of good things to come for the Whitman family and the town of Emerald Springs!
