Once upon a time…just kidding, well, sort of. I was born in Nashville, Tennessee, back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, or somewhere around then anyway. I left home at 20 to travel across the country on Amtrak, with no real destination in mind. When I stopped in California, I fell in love with the weather and decided that this was home. And that, as they say, was that.
I’m married to the kindest, most supportive man I’ve ever had the fortune to meet, mom to five amazing, talented sons and grandma to two funny, adorable grandsons. My brood keeps me on my toes and always entertained. There is never a shortage of laughter when we get together.
I always struggled with reading due to my dyslexia, so listening to stories on the radio with my dad as a child was magical to me. As I grew up, got married and began raising children, the days of listening to stories with my dad disappeared. Years later while teaching my sons how to read, I figured out a way to manage with my dyslexia and finally discovered a love of reading for myself. Contemporary romance novels became my escape. There is nothing like diving into another HEA.
I’ve always had an insanely active imagination, and my love of reading awakened my imagination in a way it never had been before. I started seeing characters in my head and hearing snippets of conversations…something one can only admit to in the writing world for fear of being fitted for a nice white jacket that lets you hug yourself. Anyway, my characters came to life in my head and in my dreams in such a huge way that I started writing things down. Before I knew it, I had an entire world planned out. I didn’t know what I was going to do about it, but my notebook was never far from my side and I was forever scribbling things down.
One day my son Joel was visiting and he flat-out said to me that I needed to give writing a shot. I always told my kids to never give up on their dreams and he told me I shouldn’t either. I took his advice, and now it’s four books later, with two more in the editing process, due to come out in April. I write contemporary romance with plenty of humor. I love my Brothers of Camelot world and I hope you will too.
