Connecting to New Audiences

As you all know, any degree of success as an author calls for a recipe with several ingredients: talent, skill/craft, determination/perseverance, and a willingness to promote yourself shamelessly. I’m writing this piece to focus your attention on that last item, and to modify it. You have to be willing to creatively promote yourself shamelessly –to do so in places you might not have initially considered, and that may surprise you (and your potential readers.) This is akin to what some have called “guerrilla marketing,” or just plain “thinking outside the box.” And it can expose your work to whole new audiences.
