Trusting Danger: Romantic Suspense (Book Two of the Danger Series)

Caila Jaynes,‎
Allyson Simonian

Genre:
Suspense-Thriller

Grayson Matthews is a dedicated undercover agent who has better things to do than babysit a senator’s daughter.  When he is assigned to protect Claire Parker from a potential kidnapping, he finds that she is far from the spoiled rich girl that he expected. Claire doesn’t understand why Grayson is so hostile until she gets to know the man underneath the tough exterior. As the couple gets to know each other, they learn to embrace and trust their mutual attraction; and dare to follow their hearts.

“Trusting Danger” is a well-constructed thriller full of twists and turns that keeps one guessing from the first page to the last. The polished prose is a pleasure to read and is populated with engaging characters for whom the reader feels a real connection. The narrative indulges in a little more ‘tell’ than ‘show’ when revealing the character’s emotions. In further collaborations, Ms. Jaynes and Ms. Simonian should trust that their excellent writing will convey their characters emotions; there is no need to spell it out. Despite this minor flaw, the authors still create a complex and rich story full of mystery and romance. The physical and emotional connection between Grayson and Claire is realistically portrayed and makes the reader care about what happens to them. “Trusting Danger” culminates in an intelligent and satisfying ending that will have the reader eager for the next installment of the series!
