Paranormal

Rainy Stratton relies on her psychic abilities to gauge the character of whomever she meets. However, she is completely unable to pierce the depths of Terry Anderson’s artistic soul. Her Wiccan abilities don’t help her to explain her strong attraction to the enigmatic artist. For his part, Terry is unsurprised by the depth of his attraction to the beautiful Wiccan High Priestess, but skeptical of her abilities. His skepticism is soon tested as disturbing events taking place in his new home cause him to change his views. The couple must pool their abilities to fight and win against The Dark Lord himself.

Readers looking for a bold and original paranormal story will not be disappointed with “Ruthless Spirits”. Ms. Wolters’ prose is fresh and descriptive, effortlessly drawing the reader into the drama of the story. The characters of Rainy and Terry are fairly well-rounded and interesting and the reader cares about what happens to them. The central conflict of the book is logical and well-paced with only a few slow spots. The novel relies heavily on exposition to provide backstory for the characters, which at times weighs down the pacing and detracts from the immediacy of the story.

“Ruthless Spirits” provides a satisfactory amount of good old-fashioned ghost story tension for the reader. The sweet and sexy bond between Rainy and Terry has the reader rooting for the couple as they face overwhelming odds to overcome absolute evil. “Ruthless Spirits” is a great book that delivers on its promise of thrills and romance.
