A man living in the wilds of Alaska notices a half-naked woman on the ledge of a mountain. The man realizes he can’t let this woman die from the cold or even suffer from hypothermia, so he decides to save her. The man does everything he can to save the woman who he calls Angel. As Angel slowly gets better, the man can’t help but be intrigued and fascinated by her. Who is she and what is she doing on his mountain? Angel is really Angela, an adventurous tour guide who became separated from her group. As Angela learns more about the man she knows only as a mountain man, but who people call Sas, she can’t help but fall for him. When Angel learns the truth of who Sas really is, will she find it in her heart to still love him?

The story has such wonderful imagery of the cold harsh environment of Alaska that the reader will have no problems seeing its frozen beauty. The book might reference a very popular classic book, Frankenstein, but definitely moves beyond the original story and becomes its own, captivating the reader. Angel might seem terminal due to her frostbite, but readers will hope that with each of Sas’s ministrations will make her well. Angel’s vulnerability and honesty make her a truly likable heroine. Readers will have sympathy for Sas, not only as a monster but as a man. Sas has a sweet sensitive soul but also inhuman strength. The characters ooze with uniqueness and charm despite the hero’s past.
