MYSTERY:  Lyra Mayet has dedicated her career to proving that Pharaoh Horemheb had children. She cannot believe her luck when she discovers the tomb of Horemheb's daughter, Namire. By opening the tomb, Lyra has inadvertently allowed a dangerous enemy to steal a feather that can bring chaos to the world. Asim is given the task of finding the feather. As Anubis' second in command, he is given the mission by the Egyptian Gods. When he meets Lyra, he is immediately drawn to her. As they work side by side to find the feather, their feelings begin to deepen. Asim is torn between his mission and the intriguing woman at his side.

An original story with dynamic characters, “Egyptian Destiny” is a well-researched and fascinating story. Laura Hawks has brought ancient characters to life and added some of her own to jump off the page and pull the reader into the excitement. The opening chapter is a little too full of information that may put readers off but when the actual story begins, the pace picks up and does not slow down. Amis and Lyra are two very different characters who work well together and this is portrayed through the dialogue and descriptions. This book is a must-read for those interested in Ancient Egypt and who love a good romance.
