"The Cattle Conundrum" is a heartwarming, cozy mystery that a reader can curl up with just about anywhere! Ms. West has created a dynamic group of characters that come together to solve aforesaid conundrum. An intriguing plot that keeps the reader guessing until the very end is a welcome change from the all-too-common predictability of today’s mysteries. While it is not necessary to read the first book in the series, as this one stands alone, it couldn’t hurt to get to know Jameson better. The pacing slows at times but in general the story is a thrill to read. The romance is a subdued affair in this novel, though a relationship is hinted at. Sizzling chemistry exists between other characters, but it endures more strongly as friendship, which makes it even more intriguing. Ms. West clearly knows how to craft a mystery, start to finish!
