Set on wooing the feisty redhead who has never known unconditional love, can William convince his proud wife she is everything he wants?

“Resisting the Rancher” may be the second novel in a series, but it can easily be enjoyed as a standalone. The author should be commended on her ability to evoke emotion in the reader, even if it is frustration or anger.  Many of the characters are flawed, which should make them more complex. Instead, these flaws can be aggravating and exhausting. The hero, however, truly shines in this novel. He is the strong, steady but soft-spoken man whose thoughtfulness is both appealing and enviable. This is in direct contrast to the heroine who is instantly unlikable due to her unnecessary coldness and hateful demeanor. While she ultimately redeems herself, and it is a delight to watch their romance unfold, her first impression leaves a bitter taste in the reader’s mouth. With her seemingly effortless ability to create vivid scenarios and realistic characters, Miss Scott is a new author to watch as she has proven to be a strong contributor to the contemporary romance genre.
