Sawyer Truman has been friends with the Bennett brothers for years.  Rachel Bennett, their younger sister, always wanted to tag along with the boys, never knowing Sawyer had feelings for her. Now Rachel is all grown up — and trapped in a relationship with an abusive man. When things get out of control one night, Rachel frantically dials 911 for help, and Sawyer is the first on the scene. Will Rachel finally find the strength to leave her abusive, unstable boyfriend? Will Sawyer re-open those long ago, locked away feelings he has for Rachel?

“One Last Chance” focuses on a life-long friendship growing into the possibility of more. The relationship between the main characters is easy to read, but at times, it feels as though it is forced. The constant inner-battle between the characters becomes redundant long before they finally resolve their issues. Physical abuse is a major part of the storyline, which could narrow its appeal for readers. However, the novel also highlights healing, friendship, and love. Readers who love small-town romances will definitely enjoy “One Last Chance”.
