Megan’s Marine (Halos & Horns #3)

Lori
Leger
Genre:
Contemporary

Being a single mom is pretty tough going.  Meagan and her 3 year-old son, Buck, have been on their own since her fiance was killed in Afghanistan.  Christopher hadn't even gotten the news that he was going to be a father before he was killed.  Now, Meagan is tending bar, chasing after Buck and taking online classes - so a chance to attend a friend's wedding is a welcome breather in her hectic life.

When she sees Master Sergeant Mitchell Hebert in his dress blues at the wedding, it's a complication she isn't sure she can handle.  After meeting more than a year ago, Mitch is now retired from the Marines and hasn't been able to forget her.  Can she risk her heart again and let him in?  And can he protect her and Buck from the "sad man" her son says is visiting their home?

Ms. Leger has an exceptional way of developing the characters!  The character of Little Buck who cannot say his R’s makes this story delightful; he immediately steals the hearts of readers. The emotion of a woman who lost the love of her life and continues to question God and his ways is truly relatable for anyone who has experienced any level of loss. This paranormal story will draw readers in so tightly that it becomes impossible to put down! The mystery and romance are consistent throughout, although there were proofing and editing errors late in the book. This is a truly lovely story of a military family getting a fresh start.  It is sweet, it is charming, it is wonderful!  Kudos Ms. Leger!
