Hoping to leave heartache and disappointment behind in Tennessee, Wren Williams sells her car and moves to Chicago to join her two best friends, Ryan and Terayn in their townhome. Desperate to end her year of self-imposed celibacy with a night of fun, Wren agrees to go on a blind date with Jackson Carmichael. Wealthy and handsome beyond her wildest dreams, Jackson is not at all what Wren had in mind, and she is even more surprised when he insists he wants to be friends with her while maintaining his open relationships with other ladies.  Can these two really be friends or does something have to give?

This first book starts the series off with a slow burn.  As Wren and Jackson slowly become friends and build intimacy, their compatibility becomes evident, even if “slow” seems out of character for a known playboy and a woman looking for an easy one night stand.  Cheering on Wren and Jackson are Ryan and Terayn whose voices are so similar that group conversations can be confusing and the dialogue between all the characters can be awkward at times.  The emotion between Wren and Jackson is lovely to watch unfold and their passion is steamy.  Unfortunately, the relationship between Wren and Jackson is the only story line in the book so readers may be frustrated when the book ends with an abrupt cliffhanger if they are not prepared to continue reading the series.
