Tori has had a crush on Brett, her brother Ry’s best friend, since forever.  Finally, after saving herself for so long, she gets her chance to hook up with him. But, all her dreams are shattered when Brett leaves before morning without even saying goodbye. Four years later, Brett returns to town on a business trip, looking to hang out at Ry’s parents’ home, like old times, but Tori is the only one at home, and she’s got a whopping chip on her shoulder. When Brett realizes how much he hurt Tori, he tries to mend their friendship, without crossing anymore lines, bBut Tori’s not about to let him off the hook so easily.  No, Tori has decided it’s time to finally get over Brett so she can move on with her life and find CHAD—her caring, hard-working, attractive, dad-material—Mr. Right.

“Getting over Brett” is everything a romantic comedy should be!  Tori’s spunk and Brett’s dopey cluelessness provides some outstanding banter between the couple. However, it’s Tori’s dog, Rex, who nearly steals the spotlight. Brett fights his feelings for Tori tooth and nail, but he wins big points when he seizes a teaching moment regarding disrespectful comments towards women.  Brett’s snooping is certainly not the best tool for discovery, which was a small drawback. There was also a slight lull in the action and verbal warfare towards the midsection of the book. However, it rebounds quickly with a nice little twist and a heart melting conclusion.  Overall, this a very funny, light and easy romance that will leave a big goofy smile on your face!
