After growing up with a father who values his career more than his family, Aviva wants a mate who will value her. She has had enough of dating though her roommates are determined to find her perfect match. Jacob Black doesn’t have time for relationship. As a law student, his focus is finishing school and making a name, and money, for himself at a top-ranked law firm. Unfortunately, his mother is determined to have him settle down. After Aviva and Jacob cross paths at a speed dating event, sparks fly. But is five minutes enough to find your soulmate?

“Five Minutes to Love” is a story two people obsessed with their careers. Aviva is a likable strong female lead with a good head on her shoulders despite her past. Jacob is just as likable, and it is clear that they are a good match. The story itself has character and depth as it takes readers on an entertaining yet believable story even if it isn’t original. However, the secondary characters can be as frustrating as they are annoying. Their singular purpose seems to be trying to set the hero and heroine up, which quickly becomes tiresome. There is also an obvious lack of spark during Aviva and Jacob’s initial meeting. Had the reader no prior knowledge that this was romance novel, their meeting would honestly be unremarkable. It isn’t until later in the story that we see a connection between the two and their chemistry explodes. Overall, “Five Minutes to Love” is a heartwarming novel that will have the reader rooting for love.
