Dancing In The White Room
It’s not easy loving a ski god; especially one who takes risks that puts his life on the line for the next big thrill... and the next. Bell is arguably the best extreme skier in the world. Sure, it was a very attractive part of him to begin with, but now…? It isn’t as if Mallory is new to the scene—she’s a ski patroller and record-holding racer. But now they’ve got a daughter together and it changes everything. She’s no longer content to watch him walk away, leaving her for who knows how long - or possibly forever.
Mallory can’t get Bell to stay, and—of course—as soon as his jeep disappears down the road, the trials of single parenthood descend. So, maybe she’s had enough. And maybe a long-ago flame is more than willing to step in and take Bell’s place.
The imagery in “Dancing In The White Room” is phenomenal! So much so that, in the dead of summer, one would require a blankie and mug of cocoa to get through it. The characters are rich and believable and the story emotional and unique. Carbone’s writing immerses the reader in her story and doesn’t let ‘em come up for air till the last page is turned. *gasping for air* Oh, yeah, it’s that good!
