CHICK-LIT/COMEDY:  Mandy Minhouser becomes the new CEO of Bill’s Big and Tasty Sausage when Bill Ludowski passes away and leaves the business to her grandmother, Lila Rose. Bill and Lila Rose had been having an affair that started around the same time as World War II and lasted until Bill’s demise - that occurred while he and Lila were romping in the hydrangea bushes naked. Even though Mandy doesn’t know anything about the sausage business, she is willing to do everything in her power to keep Kassenburg’s largest employer open. However, Bill’s grandson Hughes, the CFO of the company, has plans of his own, and they don’t include Mandy or keeping the factory open.

This captivating and light-hearted tale has the reader laughing at the many antics of the characters as they unfold. Told in the first person in a unique style, the characters come to life in this rollicking ride through life in the small town of Kassenburg. Filled with quirky situations, colorful characters, unconventional relationships, and romance, this entertaining book holds the reader’s attention from beginning to end. Even though there are a couple of areas that lag, the plot moves at a good pace. And while the dynamics between the protagonists are somewhat frustrating, the reader still roots for their HEA.

This tale affords a look into small town life with its lack of secrecy, the ups and downs of families, and the interactions of its citizens, all blending together to meld into one eccentric family community.  For an amusing, delightful read, “The Confessions of the Sausage Queen” is a book that’s sure to please!
