Acting Married (Married #5)

Tara McDermott will do anything to take care of her daughter Kylee — even if it means cleaning house for Hollywood actor and bad boy Rick Shade. However, agreeing to marry Rick to clean up his reputation is going too far, right? Moving back to the Midwest would be easy with the kind of cash he’s offering, and the fact that he makes her think of romance again does make the scheme tempting, but can she trust him not to leave her heart (and daughter) more distraught afterwards?

Rick really needs to fix his image in order to land the role he wants. It doesn’t hurt that Tara is attractive, but even he knows that the scheme his agent has cooked up might backfire. Still, Tara calls to him, despite old hurts that still haunt him. With so much attention on the pair, could the farce of a relationship for money and fame become real?

A cute Hollywood romance, “Acting Married” is the fifth stand-alone book in the Married series. It would also make an excellent Hallmark movie. With fun main characters and exciting interactions, the chemistry between the two is hard to miss. Tara’s daughter Kylee in particular moves the story along and makes the plot flow well. Although the story is a predictable, with a generic plot, and conflict that is easily resolved, the quick pace keeps the reader’s attention. Readers are in for a treat with this sweet story; the added sparks are enough to make them sorry it is over so quickly.
