You stare at the screen. Actually stare at it. Like the words will write themselves. Isn’t that how it works? The cursor just blinks at you and that little inner voice starts talking to you…again. Why aren’t you writing? “I don’t know. Just can’t think of anything to write.” Well, you are a writer. The story ideas flow from your brilliant, coffee-infused brain through your fingertips—you need a manicure by the way—and they stroke the keys of your keyboard in a musical masterpiece of words and meaningful sentences to form paragraphs. The paragraphs form chapters and then a book is written without you even blinking. “You’re right. I do need a manicure.” To most people, the idea of being a writer may seem glamorous and all fun. You get to make your own hours, you can wake up whenever you feel like it. Wrong… I’m a writer and most of us are downright crazy.
