9 Things Booklovers Can Be Thankful For

Thanksgiving is the time of year when we all take a few moments out of our busy lives to stop and give thanks for all of the good things we are blessed with. As both an author and a reader, I’ve found that this year I have a lot I can be thankful for. I decided to share my list with you.

Amazon – Love or hate ‘Zon, there’s something marvelous about the platform they have created for authors to publish their works easily, quickly, and often cheaply! Compare that to the publishing world of 10 or 20 years ago, and you can see why so many authors are grateful for Amazon’s catering to their needs. But, Amazon is also a reader’s paradise! If you’re like me, you’ve probably spent a hefty chunk of your salary on kick-ass deals—99-cent releases, Kindle Countdown Sales, or flash discounts. Amazon has made it easy for us to find amazing stories at amazing prices!
Amazon’s Competitors – iBooks, Kobo, Google Play, and all of Amazon’s competitors are beloved by people on both sides of the aisle. Thanks to these alternatives, Amazon has had to “play nice” with authors, and the competitors have kept Amazon accountable.
For readers, these sites provide a quick and easy way to get their hands on books without having to go through Amazon’s complex, often inane system. You can get all of your favorite novels on your Nook, Kobo reader, or iDevice with one click.
