Adventures in Real Estate

This month the Grants have embarked on another adventure, and as it has been consuming virtually ALL of my time, attention, energy, and imagination, I wanted to share it with all of you. Just like childbirth and writing a novel, moving your entire family from one house to another is horrible, wonderful, heartbreaking, terrifying, awe inspiring, tear inducing, full of emotions, and “why did I do this to myself!” all in the same instant of time. We have lived in the same home for almost 10 years. It's a wonderful house, a large house with tons of storage space, a great yard, and a unique layout. Sometimes we love it, sometimes we hate it, but we've never seriously thought about moving. As with many homeowners, we think about all the things around the house that need work and wonder if we will ever find the energy (or the extra money) to renovate. Just like your favorite ancient hardbound book, full of notes and highlights, yet at the same time, the back cover is falling off, again, and so what if a few inside pages aren’t in order any more, you still LOVE the silly thing.
